Almost a month long break is almost over! Been busy, really made full use of the holidays which explains my absent-ness.

Really in a writer's block right now, wrote two paragraphs and deleted the whole thing. Meh.

Got my results yesterday, probably the best one in a while. To be honest I only felt relief and not much excitement. Maybe it's because graduation is near, I'm more concerned about actual skills that I need to hone. A little terrifying FEAR. Still, results are important for now.

A picture I took in the train. Deep blue sky with striking contrast with the bright orange sunset, truly stunning!

Scrambled to find my camera, snapped a few shots and realised I needed to change lenses for a better picture. Then, for some reason, I just decided not to. I kept my camera and just ............. enjoyed it. Sure enough the train moved and there it was, a wide paddy field and the view was all mine to see.

If I was on land at the time it would've been one of my best pictures, but I can't even remember what it exactly looks like right now. Does it matter? No, cause I remember how it felt like.

As usual while eating in an Ipoh stall tonight people were selling things table by table. An uncle approached us with two packs of tissue and he said "Uncle doesn't have a job so uncle is selling you these, you can give how much you want :) " We bought them and rejected his offer to play us a song on his erhu.

Noticing I was snapping away with my camera, he said "Young man, uncle has a son and he likes to take pictures too :) .", and gave me a wide smile. The similarity between the way he and my grandfather talks is uncanny. I have no idea if he is just scamming us but his expressions were so genuine it's heartbreaking.

The table next to us paid him even more than us and requested a song, just like regulars. After he left, we overheard them saying the uncle was abandoned by his own son and has to make money on his own. To be honest, it didn't hit me how awful it feels until I reached home.

Whether it's just a plain rumour or the reality, or maybe it wasn't even his son fault. It still reminds us how fragile everything is, and how change is the only constant in life. You'll never know.

Never say never, just because you are a clean cut human being right now doesn't mean future conditions will not force you to change. Greed and lust. Temptations and desperation. We all have them, and they will change us.

This is starting to not make sense, I always spiral out of control when I start writing long. Sentimental blog fail =.= It's more of a reminder to myself to stand by certain principles. To treat my loved ones well, to help others, to accept change, to enjoy life, to be strong. Yea cheesy as hell but I is not care me likes cheesy stuff.

There's been a little drama going on, unnecessary drama, unfortunate drama, which has rendered the atmosphere to be well.......... weird to say the least. But it is no longer my part to "fix" anything, I've done what I'm supposed to do.

Finished watching the first season of Community (clicky for trailer) today. Hilarious series! Recommended! It's about the life of a group of friends in college and yes, there's a few scenes that reminds me of real life. Accepting/ rejecting people in "the group", feeling confused about everyone taking different subjects, biting each other's head off, fearing for the future..... I'm making it sound depressing, it's not ~.~

Gotta work hard for finals, since I'm quite happy about coursework marks this semester, why waste it right~

Haven't changed much these few years, but I've learnt to wear a mask or two and not worry so much. When you learn to love yourself, know what you want, good things WILL come.

The future always seem rather hopeful to me nowadays, no matter how bad things seem:)

Finally got myself registered as a voter a couple of weeks ago! The next election is going to be interesting no? Just be diligent my fellow Malaysians, look closely.

On the other hand, finally watched Harry Potter on the 31st of July (JK Rowling's birthday #fate). Short review: One of the best of the series together with the first one, a great decision to split the last movie into two. Nothing beats reading the actual books. They will surely be passed on to the future generations, at least I hope so. My future niece and nephews (or kids *cough*) would surely be receiving them.................and they better like it, or else. Ahh miss it already T_T

Childhood ends, now a voter, adulthood DUN DUN DUN! Just because I'm over 21 doesn't mean I have to act like it. Do I? :p

Hey ho. Waking up at 6.30 tomorrow, therefore I'm blogging in hoping that typing some stuff would make me sleepy =.=

Bought a new lens two weeks ago! Secondhand from a forumer. A little FEAR-y to head to Ipoh and buy an expensive item from a stranger. He was nice though. Let me test thoroughly and even treated me and my friend tea. Free meal! ...not really, paid him hundreds T_T

50mm lens, manual focus only. Very nice for dark places and bokeh for photoshoots, quite satisfied :) Probably this would be only lens that I'm buying during my uni years. Unless there's a super cheap deal for a wide angle, doubt it. Will see where this hobby goes when work starts. If I'm still interested, I'll invest. Who knows :D

Many events not posted, and I'm not sure they will be lol fail. Micro blogging is just so much more convenient! For now it's a channel for me to remind myself that I can still form coherent sentences.

Now I'm hungry, great. Writing is not helping at all. . . . . . . . Sleep inducing notes here I come, don't disappoint me!

Other than 6 hours in between that I went out, I've been pretty much tracking info on the Bersih demonstration like crazy. Guess I care more than I thought. We've gotten the attention of the world, would be interesting to see how things go from here.

Not going to post any info here, you can find them on facebook and various international news sites. Just don't read what's on Malaysia's newspaper, how disappointing.

No it's not a fairytale and Malaysia won't turn into Cinderella overnight (wtf don't really make sense but you get what I mean =.=) Will I join the next time, if there is one?

There's people that actually expect me to have a serious blog that's very opinionated and talks about serious stuff! True story LOL. I should blog more, it helps in getting rid of random crap in my brain to make way for more serious stuff XD Can't help it if I'm slightly narcissistic and talking about myself helps me. Me. Me. Me.

Have been on a tong sui cooking mood last two weeks, made two different batches of 雪耳/White Fungus (one with pear, one without) and 腐竹薏米/Sweetened Beancurd and Barley.

Cooking at home always reminds me of how low the actual cost of ingredients are.

Fungus was a success, barley turned out to have a porridge like texture, too thick! Never underestimate the expansion power of barley wtf. My friends seem to have liked it, and my bro even ate a few bowls on his own without me asking, gamdong people T_T

What's next hmmmmm....wish I had access to an oven, some pastry would be nice to experiment on.

Glad to stay in this town for the weekend, even if it's a little bit of a bore at times. Save money, save time. Would be lucky if I can even finish half of my to do list (yes blogging is actually number 6 on it, make a header for blog is number 14, no I have not done all of 1 to 5)

I can even procrastinate my video games wtf, have been playing one for 3 months and still tak boleh habis #nerdfail ...and with Bersih and all, the traffic, horror.

Just another Friday afternoon, thinking about what I want to do with my life. Blogging with the wind blowing in on the 13th floor, and the sound of mom's vege dicing.

So I turned 21 this year, yay woopdewoop. Supposed to write a whole post about it but yea, I didn't. Went to a career fair on campus a while ago, you know the usuals, filling up a bunch of question, gauging your personality and stuff. My verdict was "Undefined" fml. But my path was the next 10 years is surprisingly clear. Then again things usually don't go as planned, horror -.-

Am I living up to my potential? How much potential do I really have? Am I being productive enough in my uni life? What does being productive really mean anyway. Organising events? Fall in love? Travel? Get top grades?

Long story short. A week ago got my results, well you can say it was certainly out of any expectations. Out-of-expectationly super shitty that is. But instead of turning to an emo blob piece of crap complaining monster and waste the rest of my holiday I .........baked.

Turned out to be the best damn cakes I've ever baked by myself.

Moist vanilla cocoa butter cake with cream cheese frosting.

The red is just a tradition for red velvets, it's not exactly "necessary" per se but it does make things more interesting :p

If any of you are interested here's the recipe, and yes her cake looks amazing 0_0 I don't have nice cups and proper tools to frost properly la ok *defensive*

[tip: when recipes ask for buttermilk, just add one teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice to a cup of low fat milk, let it stand for at least 20 minutes and use as is. Buttermilk is very hard to find :x]

....was my mom's bday! At first the plan was to bake a cake but since I've been cooking in Kampar I thought I'd cook a meal instead. Nothing too fancy, but you'd be surprised how much work go into seemingly "normal" dishes. Bow down to the moms that cook 3 meals everyday, don't think I can handle that.

Melting traditional gelatine sticks thingy in beer for dessert. Just an experiment cause there's leftover beer in the fridge from CNY lol.

Nothing beats the good ol's pestle and mortar. Preparing sambal belacan!

Just checked my recent view counts, which I haven't done in a long while, and got a little surprised! Many thanks, even though I have no idea who you are.

Then I felt a little guilty for making youtube/quotes/notes-from-facebook posts, I was in my "who cares about what's happening in my life bla bla bla" stage. So here's a more proper one.

Exams exams exams. Kampar kampar kampar. Thank god I'm not home alone as originally planned, this place drives me nuts sometimes.

Those are the snacks for my finals week! Can't seem to stop snacking, especially when I'm trapped in the house doing revision, better off getting some healthy alternatives.

No problemo since I've always loved fruits. One whole honeydew at one time? No sweat. Will probably finish a whole watermelon if you give me a movie to watch.

PS Oranges are not mine, just threw it in for some colour haha... oranges are not my cuppa tea. (wut?)

Don't know when it actually started, strangers are starting to know more about what's going on in my life than my own friends. It really is time to broaden my social network in Kampar. Now that most assignments are done and finals is near, I don't really have an excuse to be online so often anymore. A good thing, given the situation.

Cooked dinner last night! I call them 紫菜豆腐煎鸡白萝卜面汤+培根小白菜. That's the western way of naming a dish, what you read is what you get, which I very much prefer. In chinese restaurants you'll be getting stuff like "~Dragon In The Sky~" and you have no idea what the eff it is -_-

we used the snack "zi cai" actually :p

Hell week is done and over with! Now all that's left are two presentations next week and the show's over. I know I know, finals, we'll deal with that later ..... Highlight of the week would be Thursday morning (yea highlight ma, so I highlight lo), feels very nice to get some recognition from a strict and capable lecturer. Thank you for the motivation!

Avoiding certain gatherings, if I can help it. Just don't see the point anymore, to be there and be unhappy. To see people that I don't enjoy having in my sight, for? Will try my best to spend time with my friends in my own way.

Right now, well before I started typing here la, I'm picking some pics to be developed! Nothing beats the feel of real pictures, can't wait to see how they turn out.

Fumbling through assignments, taking them one after another in a blur is what I dislike the most T_T It's not that I don't complete them in time, but there's just no sense of purpose. I prefer having a well though out plan and nice vision ...but then my time management sucks. Plus this semester is rather hard, and super boring zzz. Gotta try harder, and smarter!

As mentioned in the last post, I was going to perform! First time ever being in any sort of band so it was really something new. Also the first time being in a jamming studio, it was in a humble apartment but the soundproof system was seriously superb 0_0

You could tell the uncle responsible was super serious about his music with all the pictures, awards and of course his knowledge hahahaha. Aahh hearing electric guitar in close proximity pumps my adrenaline sky high!

Performance timeXD See I can post ugly pics also ok? Definitely was a good learning experience. To be honest it wasn't the most fun thing to do since I was a little stressed and we were all noobies. First step is always the hardest no? At least once you try you'll know how much to improve......... which is A LOT.

Was going to Ipoh for usual hangout session with housemate..... he missed the junction and we ended up making a big round to Kuala Kangsar weee fun -_-

Is there such a thing as not having long distance transportation luck?????? I swear we're under some sort of curse. Broken mirrors, stolen bike, missed bus etc etc. It's enough material for an entire post already.

Watched Rango (not for kids, I give it a 3/5, the trailer was far more interesting than the movie).

To me, Burger King, McDonalds, A&W are all equal. In fact I prefer BK and AW cause there's less crowd and the food are fresher.

Ah~ Just feel like it's time to recollect myself again so here I am...............................

You know sometimes when you keep running and running you forget to see where you're going then BOMM! BAM! you fall into a hole and it's just darkness. Ok la I talk like that happens all the time haha! But sometimes we just lose ourself in the middle of everything, so just stop and breath for a bit.

Free mo mo cha cha from pasar malam, super pleasant surprise. Who doesn't love free stuff anyway haha!

Too lazy to make my post flow so I just jump from point to point ok? -_-

For the first time in all these years in Kampar I went back to KB on a weekend....and on a bus! ASS NUMBING. Thanks to Huimin and my hometown friends who came to visit earlier that made me itch real bad.

End up getting food poisoning at home lol! But still worth it. This kinda sort bring me to the next point....

McD free breakfast frenzy, cheap? Yes. Worth it? Hmmmmmmmm not so sure. The emotional stress from queuing and waking up early, plus the smelly faces of the staff, just take away from the enjoyment a little.

Not to mention it made me miss my bus to Ipoh and I spent RM50 for a taxi T_T

Thank you Yanjie for accompanying me all the way to Ipoh ^^ ....and hearing grumble about missing the damn bus because of stupid McD @$@$@#

Just back from an event called Sakura Valentine's, sort of a mini festival in UTAR for white valentines .

A little ironic that it happened this week though hmmmmmmm....

So one of the first questions I heard after the quake happened was "So no more One Piece and Naruto a?!" Got a little pissed at first but it's actual a pretty normal question. Makes you think what you're going leave behind in this world ~.~

Hope the missing are found, hope the injured are healed and hope the deceased are in peace.

Since I'm a dude and not many dudes care about what clothes other dudes buy. I shall post about my gadget purchases! Or investments, as I would like to call them XD

Main reason I started writing this post. Got myself new speakers! My first external speakers.

Went to Ipoh's Yik Foong for the first time yesterday, something like a mini Low Yat...............and ended up buying this 0_0 The reason why I hate/love stepping into digital malls, there's always something to buy....and they're obviously not cheap. Zzzzzzzz......

Hopefully with good speakers I will somewhat curb my bad habit of excessive headphone usage. I worry I might be deaf by the time I'm 40 >.< (They're Creative btw, ok kan? Not ok also sudah beli -_- )

Bought my first badminton racquet two months ago! Mine's the red one. Don't really know what counts as a good racquet. Tried swinging the Rm40 and RM400, honestly can't tell if there's much differences other than the latter being lighter swt.

Fairly satisfied with my purchase. Did I mention I'm addicted to badminton? Used to feel tired after playing but now I'm immune. Not a good thing, my body needs a good shock! Oh remind me not to trust Mr.Eng's taste anymore, he convinced me to get white coloured racquet handle rubber thingy. Now they're stained like mad >.<

What can I say? Best.Investment.Ever.

Not in a rush to get new lenses yet, I personally feel that quite a lot of people waste the potential of their DSLR's. Don't waste the beauty in your hands! Explore it before getting a bunch of lenses! Most of the stuff that you want (eg "blurry background) can be done with RM1000 digital cams nowadays.

Ok la this one I'm a bit doubtful. When's I'm in the zone I bring it around everywhere. Once I forget it collects spiderwebs in the corner of my room. Just revived it a few days ago after three months, and now I'm playing everyday -_- Sell or not?

There's a few more gadgets but these are the ones that I bought with my own money! So don't call me "pai ka zai" ok................

For some reason I'm never interested in phones. I like to have my stuff seperate, games, music........... So suck it Apple and your multitasking super phones!

BTW thumbs up to all the Hongkong CNY films this year. I liked them all! Great stress release :)

Oops this place is becoming my escape route when I'm stuck with my laptop doing assignments *ahem*procrastinating most of the time.

Sucky boring classes this semester. Journals are a pain in the ass. These people use 10++ pages with extra small font just to keep repeating the same point. Super jargons that make you stare at a page for a whole hour and still can't figure out what the hell they are trying to express. Is there extra points for avoiding simple English? I miss drawing and making graphics....

Fished a lot this past week. Back when I was younger I never even wanted to try cause I thought I would hate it. Just standing there waiting for the fish to come under the hot sun, where's the fun in that? But it's sort of therapeutic, and I've given up avoiding the sun long ago.

Who knows, I'll become damn fair when if I ever get stuck in an office from morning to night in a few years (nightmare!).

Spent the whole night preparing for something special next week. Wish me luck! Rejection doesn't faze me, it only makes me more eager! More new stuff to try! Try try try!

两天没睡了，今天终于大补眠，可是今晚又没得睡。囧。

眼前摆着一大堆journal，有点不知所措。听歌听不进耳，看节目看不进眼（哈哈哈我华文实在好到。。。。）

面子书也不想上，不想看到。我脾气很不好，所以才选择远离。我井水不犯河水，也不知道该怎么做了。。。。。烦。

不管啦，还是功课比较令我担心，还有好多又在进行但又似乎没什么进度的计划。深呼吸。。。

待会还要去打球，一个礼拜两次，明天还得交作业。疯了。。。。。。。。就是疯了。。。。

I'm trying to maintain my grades.

Sorry to my parents but I've given up trying to hold it high enough to avoid being the government's debt slave. There's hope but I have too many other things that I want to try besides studying!

I'm exercising.

Exercise weekly and I still eat a lot, so no complains! One thing about jogging for me, no matter how many times you do it, it's wont ever be an actual enjoyable sport. Ahh Kampar when are you going to have a not-so-crowded-no-need-to-wear-ugly-cap pool?

The start of a new semester always makes me antsy. Cuckoo in the head.......cuckoo.in.the.head. Feel like complaining endlessly but instead I'll do a food post for distraction! Genius!

So I was in KL and had a weird craving for some hainanese chicken chop. Didn't even know they're hainanese until a year or two ago, to me it was just brown Chinese chicken chop lol.

Found this place while reading TimeOut which I picked up at Genting Highlands, it was their special december Food Awards issue. To add to the coincidence my brother has been there before!

It's a medium sized kopitiam located at Jalan Dang Wangi, near Sogo if I'm not mistaken.

The place is well known for the very thing that i wanted! The chicken was very well cooked, moist on the inside, a little crispy on the outside. The sauce goes very well with it, try adding some Winchester Sauce that they provide, makes it even better!

They also serve pork chop, fish and chips and fish chop (I'm curious too XD ). Gotta try them next time.

Another thing their known for is Roti Babi. It's basically pan fried bread with pork filling. Very fragrant pork and they sure know how to fry their bread cause it wasn't that oily at all!

The kaya they serve with their roti bakar and french toast is clumpy and very rich in taste. The chicken chop and marble cake sort of stole it's spotlight that day but I still like it a lot.

When I tried their marble cake it was warm! Warm cake is always divine so I might be a tad bit bias. With the amount of cake at their counter I figure it must be very popular as well. My aunt bought two boxes cause she loved it too much, so yea it's pretty good.

Other than these we also ordered fried Hokkien Mee and it was very good too, I wish it was nearer to where I stay though. Great place. Oh and there might be a queue, especially at lunch time since there's offices around the area.

Go find it, and try it!

Pop royalty Ms.Spears is back. The beat is just sick isn't it? Much better than the demo version. People say Britney can't sing but no one does pop quite like her. Not even Lady Gaga IMO. Great breakdown, there better be some amazing choreography! It's been hit or miss since her Gimmer More days since she's a little cuckoo from her meds.Top notch production and delivery. Anxiously waiting for the video.

With Britney, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Avril Lavigne, and more singles from Rihanna and Taylor Swift 2011 is going to be a diva showdown.

Used to watch bits and pieces of this a few years back. I was never good with following TV schedules so I always missed the episodes. About two months back I finally got the DVD of the series, a very good decision I might say :D

This series is one of the best ones that I've watch, whether it's american cartoon, japanese animes or even real life dramas. It touches on people's relationships, anger, forgiveness, self-esteem, family, friends and many other things.

Sounds dreary when I say it like that but I assure you that there's plenty of fighting involved, and the powers are very cool! Especially as they get stronger and stronger towards the end.

Watch this trailer if you don't mind being slightly spoiled, just slightly.

One of the things that I like the most is the humour in this. There's a few moments that I actually laughed out loud. Here's a bonus clip from the series, very cute :)

If you're wondering what I thought about the movie, let's just say I have nothing nice to say about it. I don't care that the effects were cool, it was pretty much horrible. M Night Syamalan should have just used the money to further expand the series, or donate it to poor people or something -_- It should not have existed. Up side is hopefully some people discovers the series through the movie.

Ending this post with some Iroh (Zuko, the seemingly evil fire bender's, quirky and wise uncle).

Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel; you can't always see what is at the end of the tunnel but if you just keep moving you will come to a better place.

Sort of, kind of fumbled my way through the year 2010. I fell, I got back up, there were really good times and some not-so-good ones. A dramatic, yet somewhat normal year. Still believe that everything happens for a reason, going through hard times build character and makes you stronger!

You know what they say, whatever that doesn't kill you, will probably try again *dun dun dun insert dramatic music*

This year went by freakishly fast, I know people say that every year but I really feel that way this time. Looked back at posts at the beginning of 2010 and I can't believe that those things happened in January!

Hmmmm instead of doing the normal recap, I'm going to post a few of my favourite scenery/stock pictures this year. Technically half the year since I got my camera in June. A change of focus since I post food most of the time :D

You know how people talk about signs? Maybe this is one. Religion.....that's a whole other story. By the way that's my spiffy Avatar profile picture, which is also a whole other story.

Sometimes I wonder why I have a facebook account when most of the things annoys me. Well it didn't used to be like this.

I don't know...... if I wanted to be a kind and popular person I probably should be " :) " instead of complaining. Tried, can't. I know every advice in the book but that doesn't mean that I can follow them. Promised a dear friend that I'll improve but at the end of the day we're still who we are aren't we? Improvements instead of changes, if that makes any sense.

Last semester was a nice one, so nice that on the last week I was counting down for everything. "Last Sunday this sem...", "Last Monday....", "Last time we're coming to mamak....", "Last movie this sem..." you get the drift T_T

But there's no choice but to suck it up and keep moving forward, with a little trust and independence. Planned to get a job and keep to myself last sem and yea, did not turn out that way hahahahhaha -_-

Maybe I'm just tired from the lack of sleep this few days. Shouldn't let such a small matter ruin all the fun.

Whisk at Empire Subang

Had a nice morning chasing coffee around with my brother a few days ago. Today I'm going to blog about on of the places which is Whisk!

Heard of this place a while ago, unfortunately the two times I was in Empire Subang I was in the mood for a heavy meal so I chose not to try it. But I finally had the opportunity thanks to my brother!

Whisk is a warm and cozy little cafe at the ground floor of the mall. They're known for their home made cakes and superb coffee, which is pretty much everything :D

I'm no expert but according to my brother the coffee here is pretty superb. But I sure think the art on that cappuccino is jaw-dropping, I was looking at it in awe.

This is mine, recommended by the barista. If I remember correctly it's called a bercini. A different kind of mocha with chocolate shavings at the bottom. The more you drink the stronger the chocolate taste comes out. I was caught off guard! Very nice, suits me since I'm not really an avid coffee drinker.

This is Marvin, the barista, one of the top baristas in Malaysia!

Like I said Whisk is also well known for their home baked goods, the whole time I was there people were coming in and out da bao-ing the cakes so they must be really good. The price is just right since the portion is rather big.

For that day there were Hummingbird cake, carrot cake, Red Velvet (cho vanilla), chocolate cake and a few other pastries.

Nope I didn't try them unfortunately (will sooon!), instead I got me some..............

.....macarons instead! They're baby macarons are to die for. The size is just right since macarons are quite sweet and sometimes I can't finish the whole one. Tried every flavour and my favourite must be the pistachio! On first taste it's buttery and as you chew you'll taste the nut and the flavour stays in your mouth long after.

Warning: doesn't go too well with coffees due to their strong taste.

I forgot to take pictures but the ambience in Whisk was really nice, very warm. Love the french cottage inpired deco.

Dumpling Day!

Happy Winter Solstice Festival/Dong Zhi/ Dumpling Day!

To be honest I had no idea that this day was supposed to fall on 22 December every year, till a friend told me on facebook -_-

Had a mini dumpling making party woop woop. First time cooking dumplings away from home, pretty simple!

Let's see, you'll need

Sugar and glutinous rice flour

Remember to cook the sugar syrup beforehand and cool it down for a bit, otherwise it might turn milky when you put in the dumplings. I chilled my syrup though.

This is me trying to make a caramel syrup, surprisingly it tastes okay! But the idea was scrapped since "the boss" prefers the traditional clear type XD

Food colouring, the best way would be using pandan leaves to get green but the store ran out >.<

Slowly add water till you get the right consistency, not too wet and has too have that bounciness hahahaha. I'm no expert so in short just follow your gut la.

Add colouring to half of it.

Ok spot what's wrong ? I should've added the colouring to the water! EPIC FAIL. So I ended up with rasperry ice cream looking marble dumplings 0_0 Kinda cool though.

Then it's time to play! We made a bunch of random shapes!

Fun fun fun. Still plenty of normal ones, other than the fact that they are marble coloured -_- Got to have round ones since they symbolizes reunion. To be honest, something that I'm hoping for.

Wonder if I'm going to cook "cough"play"cough" this again when I go back home. Frankly I'm a tiny bit emo-ish cause the end of this sem is actually here, but that's for another day.

Now I'm eager to try more adventurous recipes!

In the end we spotted more than 10 meteors (my friend saw more than 30 whoa) in a short period of time, cheesy as heck but it really was magical ^^ First time I ever saw one was two years ago but it was just a small one. Both times were with dudes, lol so gay.

Thank god for the paper tomorrow! Never thought I'd say that. Hmmm maybe I'll just go get an MC for neck injury rofl.

Didn't make any wishes, cause the meteors seems heavy and I don't feel like being a burden wtf. Sometimes I take things for granted, such as how lucky I am. Feeling grateful.

Lost my keys.

Stuck in my own house FML.

Plans of the day gone out the door, not that I don't have time for them when my housemate gets back but still............ being stuck and staying in is different!

I do have suspicions that the key is in the car, but to get to them I might have to slide down the roof than jump to the dividing wall ala Mission Impossible.

It's not THAT hard but what if the key is not in the car??? I'd be stuck outside with my sleeping clothes and that would really be super FML-_- Better stay in and catch up with my shows, but at least I have an escape plan if anything happens bwahahahhaha.

Since I have time to kill, time for a Kampar food post.

First is a bak kut teh place. Sorry can't remember the name but it can be easily spotted on the way from Kampar to Ipoh. I'm estimating about 15 minutes from Kampar. It's quite well known around here so it should be easy to find.

I used to refer this place as the "place where you can refill the soup", seriously didn't know that many places offer this service lol. It's not as common in my hometown. Despite the well known-ness of the place I was actually there the first time in this 2 1/2 years.

The soup packed a good punch, even if I'm no bak kut teh expert I could taste the difference in this one. The taste of herbs is just enough and it striked a nice balance between the other ingredients. You could tell that the soup too work and the saltiness isn't from seasonings alone.

They have two choices of veges/ "You Choy", what do you call 玻璃生菜 in English again? It;s your typical you choy but with a hint of the herbs in the soup. Quite surprising, a pleasant one at that.

Next is a curry mee place. A bit relunctant to share this place actually cause it's crowded as it is XD

It's in a Kampar old towns housing area. Go towards the railway station and turn into the housing area before you reach the station. Just a humble little shop with no name or anything.

The price is cheap, first time I was there I chose a moderate amount of food and was surprise that it was just RM3++. Now I just grab a whole bunch to the point the aunties beside would look at me like "Whoa young man so hungry a??"

The soup is actually a little sweet-ish, not your typical curry but it makes me feel all fuzzy inside lol. Somehow it reminds of the curry in my secondary school, only stronger.

LOVE lady fingers in soups cause they suck it all up!

The fried meatballs are heavenly when you soak them in the soup for a while. They absorb the soup and you get these crunchy curry meatballs! Someone should sell this in the pasar malam. Trust me, people will like it!

Aah I only had a bowl of cereal today! Damn keys. I shall be free soon.

(Edit: I'm free!......and someone is insisting on teaching me how to climb down from the second floor, and back up wtf)

Just a few days ago a friend found a little near her apartment.

Surely it had an owner cause the little puppy is really healthy (fat even!) and the fur was still shiny. Looks nothing like a stray dog I tell you. It looks like a Rottweiler no? Well according to a pet shop it's mixed and won't grow as big as a pure breed.

I can't keep it cause my hometown's too far away, sigh too bad cause she's a good dog. Yea it's a she. But quite violent I tell you, I tried to show her who's boss and she wanted to bite me, for real -_-

My friend named her Roti lols, don't ask me why. Never good to name things that you're not planning to keep, you get emotionally attached!

We tried to find the owner but someone that's lives on the lower levels said Roti's been around for quite a while and she sometimes feeds it milk. (yes I am slightly suspicious that the neighbour might be it's owner, just slight ) Then we tried to find adopters but to no avail.

Just dropped little Roti off in a pet shop just now. The owner didn't even want her cause he thought we're selling. Seeing her with the other stray dogs would break your heart because (no offense) she looks so much better.

Well fingers crossed that you get a good home little bread.

Since little we would listen to love songs and would expect relationships to be a roller coaster and what not, no one really warned us about all the other people in the world other than your gf/bf. Most of the time "friendship songs" would be "Oh yea baby we are friends forever..." or "we're leaving but we would never forget each other my fweenn"

Real life? Suck it please. Lol at people throwing best friends and "we are a familyzzz" around like its nothing. Just because you take lots of pictures together and go on trips and stuff it doesn't make you a family. Especially when once you are different classes you just slowly drift away, or you don't even support someone when things happen..... Families don't do that. I feel like I'm facing two faced people sometimes, got to look over my back and prepare to defend myself in case something bads happens.

Not saying I'm planning to lower my standards, I'm not. I'm just preparing myself that most people in uni won't be any higher than "I spend time with you just because I don't feel like being alone today". They don't really really care about how you feel most of the time. All men for himself.

I sound like a terrible friend, maybe I am? In a way? People would rather take the taxi then ask for my help, must be something wrong. I have no problems with not-so-close friends, I would dare say people don't mind me. That's cause I'm nice, I don't feel the need to tell them things that would make them feel uncomfortable. Close friends shouldn't have to be diplomatic! Sometimes I wonder why I'm so 38 and go and help people. Biggest lesson learned in uni? Caring more equals to nothing. Want to be more popular? Just be fun, generous and act like nothing offends you. "It's ok la, nvm nvm hahahha :) " Jot this golden sentence for your own good.

Meh I have reasons for my standards, I wish everyone could be my best fwen but I'm not 8 years old anymore. You can have a thousand facebook friends, you can have a thousand coursemates, you can have a thousand makan-kaki but you can only have so many real friends.

Now first thing's first. In my very humble opinion kids under the age of 5 shouldn't be allowed in the cinema. I would never understand why there are people who brings babies for movies. There was a kid who was crying for almost half the movie, despite people shushing like mad he's damn parents just sat there. Seriously?

By the way, shut your phones and stop chatting! If you're that busy you shouldn't be watching the movie, wait for the DVD or something zzzzzz.

On to my simple review.

Loved how much darker they went from movie to movie cause that's how it's supposed to be. Some may find this movie a bit draggy but I liked that they had time to build up to the grand finale. For this one I agree that two movies are needed to even come close to doing the book justice. In fact this is the closest they've been since the first movie. Sometimes it's not all about the money. Kudoz to the team that decided to do this!

Slight spoilers.

Too much focus on Harry/Hermione, everyone knows they're not going anywhere. Whoa at the naked scene.

Hermione looked really really good in this film.

Still a few key scenes were cut out, which renders some scenes (in this part and also part II) senseless. Random people just pop ups doing random things to continue the plot -_-

Commercially, probably too boring for some, especially those who don't read the books.

Voldemort was nicely portrayed.

The animation for the Deathly Hallows story was amazing!

Bathilda Bagshot/Nagini = thumbs up

Too bad they couldn't fit in Dumbledore's backstory. It's so interesting.

Reading the book is still the best way to have the "Potter Experience" but this movie were more successful in coming close to that than the previous one.

One more thing, why the Twilight/Harry Potter comparison? Twilight, especially the movie, is nothing but fluff. A glorified 偶像剧(taiwanese teen idol dramas) that drowns teenage girls in a never reaching fantasy of the perfect prince charming. *hides* Not to mention it's completely in a whole other genre than HP.

Went to a music composing event yesterday, which sort of explain my music high. Love it. One thing I've always wanted to say, I don't get the love for people like Sam Tsui and Jason Chen on youtube.They have great voices but hey try too hard to be perfect. ... PERFECT IS BORING.

To be honest while people say Taylor Swift has a terrible voice( I use to agree to a certain extend), not many people has that charm and honesty in her singing. Heck she gets standing ovations from people that's far more superior in the vocal department. Technique is just one of the aspects of singing.

Ok la I know I'm overreacting a bit, I don't hate the two guys. In fact I watch some of their videos. It's just frustrating to see people going "Woow you guys are the best, better than the original!!!111!!1!1!" in every video.

Meh isi terpesong. Good music and good vocals are two things no? For me it is. Let's just do the panda!

Probably how I'm going to spend my lazy holiday afternoon. My housemates and I would like to thank my sis for the ham from Thailand hahahah~ Random.

Water colours can be very annoying. . . . . . and yes I'm currently at kindergarten level hahaha.But when you get that matte effect, you know perfectly smooth with no brush strokes it's so rewarding! At the end of the semester I'm so going to use all all the leftover colours, wear a beret and paint something ~*artistic*~

Thanks to my lecturer now I have to start preparing for my intership and in two months, my final year project. I'm not even in Year 2 yet! Oh well if you're planning to compete in the real world, this is nothing. Just hope the determination to branch out (and conquer everything muahaha) remains.

Honestly, I liked seeing my work all over campus :)

Really need to make a habit of blogging about stuff right after the events, or just not blog about it at all -_- Since it's very easy to lose "steam" to write anything about it.

Ipoh Ipoh Ipoh. Since the nearest big town to Kampar is Ipoh, I'll be exploring it a lot in my uni days I guess. Finally got to know the roads and stuff, so now I don't have to restrict myself to mall food (which is super limited there) anymore!

This time it was during the time my brother was in Ipoh, more info here lol. When my dad's around you can always count on him for good food, you know those types that only locals know. He can do that at almost every state in Malaysia due to his business travelings, ultra jealous. Why didn't I inherit his sense of direction? WHY??

Ipohrians should be familiar with this? The kopitiam with lots of stalls and is always jam packed with local families. It's my second time here! Nothing beats these old kopitiams....suck it Old Town White Coffee (not the ori one XD ).

鸡丝河粉, one of Ipoh's signature delicacies. The one here has a stronger prawn taste compares to the ones served in 芽菜鸡 places. Which explains the redness of the soup. Definitely better with more prawns!

Be careful where yous it when you're ordering this though. This restaurant is combined with another one next door. It's ok to order dishes from either sides but not this since there's a 鸡丝河粉 stall in each.

The balls. I admit I'm not really good in judging how good fish/meatballs are. But these were quite firm. The fried ones are pork I think (can't remember T_T), not bad but I prefer the ones with less ginger. Not a ginger person.

The chee cheong fun stall was just next to us so had to order some. The sauces are flavourful but I like to have some snacks to go along with my chee cheong fun. There's was an uncle that had his plain with sesame seeds, hmmmmmmmm not my thing hahaa.

Pork satay! With the normal meat version and also pork innards. Here they will just leave a bunch of satays on your table and they'll count the sticks later. So control yourselves -_-

Caramel pudding! My mom's fav and you can see one on almost every table here. The texture is just ngam ngam, not too firm and not too soft.

(I made this before! *shows off* , ok la not that hard actually XD)

One thing though, the coffee could be better. It was just your normal too much water Nescafe here. I rarely drink coffee but for some reason I sometimes crave for the ori Ipoh White Coffee, when I only had it twice in my lifetime.

Just though I'd add this in here. Went to this Assam House in Ipoh cause it was on the papers that day and my uncle wanted to try. Really nothing spectacular and it's rather pricey.

Aaa holidays. Nice to stay in Kampar for a few days without classes or assignment meetings. Haven't sat still for once this semester, if I'm not sleeping I'm doing work if I'm not doing work I'll head out and play. Guess I'm still paranoid that if I stay still for too long something bad might happen. That's what you get for being a mess the last few months hahaha.

Cleaned and rearranged the house yesterday. Killed so many spiders I'm afraid they might declare war and revenge in the middle of the night...............when I'm sleeping! The bath after a whole morning/afternoon of work is priceless. Then I finished the day with a hang out and lots of gaming hoorah.

I'm not even trying to sound coherent anymore -_-

Currently feeling pissed cause my shortcut to campus is now banned. FML FML FML. Never really paid much attention to our student's representative but I am now pleading that they solve this! Oh such a Malaysian I am. Not to say I don't appreciate what they've doing for us, cause I do.

Random notes before the main post:

- Lol at this blog turning into half a food blog. Main reason is probably because I don't have a camera phone anymore, so I can't take pics of the randoms stuff I see -_- Still too many things in my "Want/Need To Buy" list to get one.

- One of the most frequently occur awkward moment is? For me it's when you're getting a haircut -_- The stylist/barber/ hair cutter is looking at you and you don't know where to look hahahahaha. Normally I just look at my own face since I can't really see anything with my glasses off 0_0

My brother was unfortunately admitted to KPJ Ipoh Specialist Center last week. Had a surgery on his kidney but he was discharged yesterday and is now continuing his recovery back in Kelantan :) Crosses fingers for no complications.

My family don't usually go to private hospitals since we're one of the very few that thinks government hospitals are quite good (not that bad what right???). It was interesting indeed!

The lobby and first floor area looked like a mall with bakeries and grocery shops. Need more proof? Look at this..

Just back from a tiring journey..... it was for my uncle's funeral. Unfortunately he passed away young, just over half a decade old.

Won't go into too much details, out of respect. Especially since it just happened. One thing however, it wasn't a terribly sad funeral. Everyone was trying to be as upbeat as possible. Death, it's such a mysterious "situation" different people react to it differently, depending on different situations too. Once I saw a person wrote online that he laughed when he got a call for his mother's death, he had no idea why. How many of us actually know for sure how we would react if we got similar news *touch wood*

So much thoughts running through my head observing all the processions, about the society, about life. How beautiful and yet how dark something can be at the same time. Then again that might be separate posts in the future. Don't want to drag this post for too long.

Things might go wrong sometimes but right now, I just feel blessed by all the people that I love, and to have them love me back. Family that is always there, friends that have seen my worst yet are still sticking by and people that I care for so much blood related or not it doesn't even matter anymore.

Without saying too much, my uncle was a great man :) The whole world won't stop for you when you're gone, but for your loved ones you will always be there. He will be be missed......

PS. Praying for my parents cause things been rough lately, and hope my brother gets well soon!

Ikea. Hear that and of course most would be thinking of furniture. A walk in Ikea is always bittersweet, sweet cause you see all these awesome stuff and start imagining how great they would look in your room, bitter is most of the time you can't afford or don't have a purpose for them.

Ikea and Low Yat, I love/hate these two places even more than shopping malls.

But today I'm not posting about furniture, me is posting about ze food (duh).

When you get to Ikea there's two places fo food, one is on the lower floor selling curry puffs and hot dogs, those are nice. Then there's this US highschool canteen like place (you'll see) on the second floor. Cheap and nice food with refillable drinks, hot or cold.

Get my "US highschool cannteen like" reference lol. Call me a kampung boy but I get excited queuing with a tray (a 3 level tray mind you) and seeing the staff slapping food on your plate. ROFL

The chicken is actually a little weird for me, it's lemon-y with a hint of mint if I remember correctly. Spaghetti's ok, nothing special.

The cake is actually made from Daim chocolate (hence the name) so it's rather sweet, share if you want to try it. It's some sort of cake slash chocolate bar. I liked it.

First I would like to say, why is there no buzz for this movie, like at all? I was waiting to watch Resident Evil a while back and I saw the trailer and was like what the this is coming out in two weeks??

I'm a sucker for animations. I'm a sucker for fantasy stuff. I'm a sucker for middle age, battle to the death, good pwns evil movies so yea, I liked it.

The effects were breathtaking. The movement of the owls flying and the environment just brings you to another world. So graceful and majestic.

They had many different species of owls too, there's the big ones and the cute mini ones lol. Not to mention some of them looked like Molly <3 But damn owl babies are ugly -_-

The storyline is nothing unique, but the CGI and actions just made up for most of them for me. You've got to check out how the fight, especially the ones with swords! Coolness!

Definitely recommend this, especially since there's not many good movies lately *sigh*

Before I leave you, I would like to ask...

Why do I keep seeing him everywhere and everytime these days -_- He's good and all but the frequency of he's movies appearing is a little alarming. Over exposure much?

Just noticed that I have a tonne of pictures that I haven't touched. Probably won't be posting them all since I don't have the time and when the thing is over for too long I tak ada mood to post liao.

Revision for my last paper was a little hell-ish 0_0 No idea why, I'm always steady zzz. The last time I was caught in a rut for Maths..................................... and I didn't like how that turned out XD Thankfully the exam was still ok. 2 to go now woop.

This sem's ending, next sem's coming. I try not to think about next semester, drastic changes, rather uneasy ones. Will try to be more open to new things, like last night! Tried some new things and it was nice.

Ugh I have zero plans for sem break and it's bugging me! Especially since I already went back home for two weeks, I want to travel somewhere but everyone's busy @!$@#!%#%@ Hopefully something comes up *crosses fingers*

I'm being bold lately cause heck people have been and no one is considering anyone's feeling at this point.

Yes I tend to hold a grudge but I remember all the good things I've received as well, I remember A LOT. Not really by choice. To phrase Show Luo (lol), I keep a different notebook for everyone.

Still as lost as I can be. I don't know what people want, and I have no idea what I want. All I'm doing it going through the days, trying to stay alive. Trying to be as calm as possible. No great joy, no great sorrow. One line, as flat as possible.

That's all for personal life I guess. As for this blog, thanks for visitng but it will be dull for quite a while. No actual hiatus. If something interesting happens and I feel like sharing I will, but lately I don't have that feeling. Plus I'm trying to be more mysterious with my life ahhaha.

For now, all is well. Let's keep it that way.

Contrary to popular belief, I know when to back off.

When people starts refering you as "the shit" , yea it's time.

Yet when I was there waiting for an answer to my questions. Trying to clear things up. Trying to have a two way communication, where were any of you?
